Hi. I am using this plugin to allow a client to be sent large CAD files from clients. I want the file to be saved to dropbox but not to my server. Sizes will vary but it’ll need to be able to handle up to and above files of 100MB. However the form just seems to take forever. On a test of a 500MB file it took 1 hour to upload and then the send icon just spun and the form never sent. So i tried again with a 100MB file and whilst it uploaded a lot faster again the send spinner just spun and never sent. I don’t want the site to save files locally. I only want them in dropbox. Do you have any setup recommendations?
Also can we add contact form name field to the dropbox folders so we get something like /client-assets/joe-smith-2020-03-04. Otherwise it’ll get really confusing when they have 20 submissions in one day. Also can we change the date format so its 04-march-2020 so there is no month/day confusion?
Also is it possible to link to the file in the email submission. I see there is an option to generate share link but I can’t see a way to insert it into the email.
Kind Regards
Richard
March 5, 2020 at 10:42 am #932Hi!
I just uploaded video file (near 60 mb) on your site. It’s was uploaded pretty fast. Do you receive it?
Also can you send me your big CAD file. I will try to upload it and check, if something going wrong.March 10, 2020 at 2:30 pm #934Hi
So the upload system is working and whilst it is slow I did a speed test against dropbox’s own upload and they are both the same so think thats fine.
However I still have the issue with folder naming. Basically they will likely get 20 submissions a day and if there are just submission times then it’ll get rally confusing when they are on the phone. So what I’d like is for the folder to include the name field. I tried /from-[your-name]/ but the shortcode doesn’t work. Ideally i’d like the folder to say /day-month-year-from-name/. Can that be done?
Kind Regards
Richard

For now there is no shortcodes support in Dropbox folder names, but I will try to add this in future. -
